The Emerging Powers in Africa project, led by social justice NGO, Fahamu, will conduct a capacity building workshop for journalists on March 15-17 in Nairobi, Kenya.
The workshop aims to strengthen the capacity of African media professionals to investigate and report on the influence of new investors (including China, India, Brazil, South Korea and Turkey) on African countries’ trade agreements and cultural exchanges, and on how these influences affect national development.
Media professionals and freelance reporters based in Africa are invited to apply. Scholarships cover the costs of airfare, accommodation, meals, local transportation and visas. Candidates must be fluent in English and have at least eight years of experience in journalism.
The deadline to apply is February 20, 2014.
