The Persephone Miel Fellowship offers $5,000 U.S. travel grants towards reporting projects that focus on global crises which are underreported in mainstream American media.

The fellowships are overseen by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting in consultation with Internews. They are designed to enable media professionals outside the United States to bring their work to a broader international audience. They are of particular benefit to those with limited access to other fellowships or international distribution of their work.

The fellowships are open to journalists, writers, photographers, radio producers, filmmakers, staff journalists, freelancers and media professionals who reside outside the U.S. and who are seeking to report from their home country. Women are strongly encouraged to apply. Applicants must be proficient in English.

The application deadline is February 15, 2015.
