Call for applications: Public outreach fellowship

The Open Society Foundations [1], or OSF, founded the Open Society Fellowship in 2008. The Fellowship supports individuals to pursue innovative and unconventional approaches to challenges in an open society.

The Fellowship funds work that enriches public understanding of these challenges and stimulates far-reaching and probing conversations within Open Society Foundations, and in the world.

The Fellowship is aimed at “idea entrepreneurs” from across the world who wish to challenge conventional wisdom and are committed to achieving democracy and accountability.

A Fellowship project may:

Fellows may produce books, reports or blogs. They may also develop innovative public education projects or launch new campaigns, activities or organizations.

Projects should focus on areas of interest to OSF, including:

Fellows will spend part of their fellowship term at one of the organization’s main offices in New York, Washington, London, Brussels or Budapest, or at a regional foundation.

In addition to a stipend for living expenses, the fellowship may cover expenses such as travel, conference fees, and part-time research assistance.

The application deadline is August 3, 2015.
