Call for applications: Journalists to cover the Global Media Forum

Orange Magazine is a project of the European Youth Press, an organization that works for the benefit of young European journalists. The organization is looking for 10 young journalists, photographers and video-makers aged 18 to 30 to cover this year’s Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum.

The Forum will focus on “Media and Foreign Policy in the Digital Age.”

The call is open to journalists from anywhere in the world. Journalists from sub-Saharan Africa are particularly encouraged to apply. Deutsche Welle (DW) will assist with visa applications for those who need it. Successful applicants must produce and write articles for their home media as well as for Orange Magazine.

The event will take place in Bonn, Germany from June 22-24, 2015. Travel costs will be reimbursed by DW. DW will also cover accommodation and food for three nights.

The following positions are open for applications:

  • photographer
  • video journalists
  • multimedia journalist
  • print and web journalists

Please note that social media skills are highly appreciated. Successful applicants will be expected to tweet and use Facebook during the conference. Audio and video skills are an advantage. You will need perfect spoken and written English and the capacity to work with people from other cultural backgrounds.
