Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW) recently launched a blog competition for journalists and bloggers across Africa. The competition aims to raise awareness of how HIV and AIDS affect children.

Herman van Gelderen is Editor of RNW’s Africa Department. He says, “We are looking for personal contributions, written from the heart, and professional input, from doctors, nurses and others who are involved with HIV and AIDS.”

Bloggers are invited to upload their contributions to the website. Blogs should be a maximum of 600 words. All contributions are made public on the website, where you can read them and vote for your favourites.

A jury will choose the five best bloggers. Prizes include an Ipad, a laptop and a digital camera. The blog competition runs until 21 January 2011.
