Internews’ Earth Journalism Network is offering reporting grants to fund the production of in-depth stories about threats to biodiversity and conservation-based solutions  to those threats.

Human activity is threatening biodiversity as forests are cleared, oceans overfished, and wildlife poached. The Earth Journalism Network would like to highlight the importance of species loss through investigative reporting.

Grants ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 U.S. will be available to fund investigative reporting, news articles, and multimedia packages. Freelancers and staff journalists are invited to apply.

Internews and the Arcadia Foundation will publish the funded stories, but journalists can also publish these stories in other outlets.

The deadline to apply is Feb. 17.
