Applications are now open for the Crises of Inequality Media Contest held by the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD).

The contest seeks the best journalistic materials that showcase the key themes of UNRISD’s 2022 Flagship Report called Crises of Inequality: Shifting Power for a New Eco-Social Contract.

Journalists participating in the contest help UNRISD by increasing awareness of the urgency to build a new eco-social contract based on visions of justice, equality and sustainability.

To participate, print and broadcast journalists working in any language must pick a theme from the report and make a clear reference to it in a story.

The top three entries will receive prizes of US $1,000, US $750, and US $500 respectively. One reporter under the age of 30 will receive a special prize of US $500.

The deadline to apply is Dec. 4, 2022.
