The African Media Initiative is inviting entries for the Zimeo Excellence in Media Awards. These awards recognize excellence in print, radio, TV, and digital journalism.
The award categories include reporting on: gender, youth, maritime economy, business and finance, technology, agriculture and food security, health, education, peace and security, energy, data journalism, climate change, the African Union, and sustainable development.
Work must have been broadcast or published between July 2015 and July 2016. Submissions can be single articles or thematic packages produced in English, French, Arabic, Portuguese, or Kiswahili.
Winners will be invited to a Reporting Africa conference in Nairobi, Kenya, in November.
The deadline to apply is Sept. 15.
