The CNN MultiChoice African Journalist Competition highlights journalism’s role in Africa’s development, and honours journalistic talent across all media.

CNN is inviting professional African journalists to apply, whether they are directly employed or freelancers. The journalists must work in Africa and have produced a story which has either been made available as a printed publication, or broadcast through an electronic medium whose primary audience is based in Africa.

All entrants must be African nationals and at least eighteen years of age.

Journalists can submit work in 14 categories. Winners will receive cash prices and an all-expenses-paid program of networking activities and workshops. The competition’s judges will select one journalist of the year from the category winners to travel to CNN headquarters in Atlanta, US, and participate in the CNN Journalism Fellowship.

The deadline to apply is March 24th.
