The theme of this year’s African Climate Change and Environmental Reporting Award is “Changing the narrative on environmental challenges in Africa: the case of pollution.”

The Pan African Climate Justice Alliance is offering the overall winner an opportunity to travel to Poland to cover the UN Climate Change Conference in December 2018.

There will also be a winner and two runners-up in the following categories: print, radio, television, photojournalism, and online media. Winners will receive $1,000 US and runners-up will also receive cash prizes. Finalists will attend a networking and training opportunity in Kenya in October.

Works must have been published or broadcast between January 2017 and June 2018 in English or French.

The deadline to apply is Aug. 5.
