Côte d’Ivoire: Government introduces cocoa label to increase value (Africanews)

Côte d’Ivoire has introduced a “made in Côte d’Ivoire” label in an effort to increase the value and visibility of Ivoirian chocolate. Côte d’Ivoire leads the world in the production of cocoa.

The logos will first appear on chocolate in 2017.  According to the minister of agriculture, the objective is to inform consumers of the quality of the cocoa. He hopes that the new label will be as successful as the “Colombian coffee” labels.
