Have an idea to help improve journalism? Apply for a Nieman visiting fellowship

For those who are interested in improving journalism, but have neither the time nor the opportunity to take a full academic year, the Nieman Foundation at Harvard University has just announced a visiting fellowship.

Up to three visiting fellowships are available per year, and both American and international applicants are welcome to apply. The length of the fellowship depends on the proposed project, and non-journalists as well as journalists are welcome to apply. Applicants can propose a self-contained project expected to be completed during the visit, or can be part of a broader project.

The deadline for applying is November 19, 2012. The application is quite brief — 500 words on what you’d accomplish as a visiting fellow. Full details of the course and how to apply for one of the fellowships can be found at http://www.nieman.harvard.edu/NiemanFoundation/NiemanFellowships/TypesOfFellowships/NiemanFoundationVisitingFellowships.aspx [1]
