WHO video series: COVID-19 vaccines, variants and mass gatherings

The World Health Organization (WHO) has created a series of informational video and audio clips about COVID-19. The series is called “Science in 5” and it features global health experts who address important issues about the pandemic.

In this video clip, Dr. Soumya Swaminathan, WHO’s Chief Scientist, answers the following questions:

  • How much protection do the COVID-19 vaccines provide?
  • Would you need a booster shot for new COVID-19 variants?
  • What do science and evidence tell us about mass gatherings and the spread of COVID-19?
