Reham Al-Farra Memorial Journalism Fellowship
Applications are now open for the 2019 Reham Al-Farra Memorial Journalism Fellowship, taking place at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from Sept. 15 to Oct. 5, 2019. The fellowship provides journalists with an opportunity to gain first-hand experience of the work of the United Nations, attend special briefings, interview senior officials, and exchange ideas with colleagues from around the world.
Eligible candidates must:
- be between 22 and 35 years old
- be a full-time working journalist
- be proficient in English
- possess a passport valid for at least six months beyond the start of the program (program begins Sept. 2019)
- be a national of a developing country or country in transition, as defined by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs. For a full list of eligible countries, please refer to: https://outreach.un.org/raf/eligibility
The fellowship covers travel to New York and provides a daily subsistence allowance to cover accommodation and related expenses. Applicants are required to register with a user account before submitting an online form.
