The World Federation of Science Journalists is offering an international travel fellowship for journalists to attend the World Conference of Science Journalists in July 2019. The conference will take place in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Any journalist who writes, edits, or produces science news, information, or commentary, including freelance journalists, is eligible for the fellowship if they would otherwise be unable to attend the conference. The travel grant includes air travel, local transportation, visa fees, accommodation on-site, and conference registration.

There are grants available for conference attendees and additional grants for journalists attending the pre-conference workshops, two of which are open to journalists from Africa:
– Francophonie workshop connecting francophone journalists and researchers
– Jacobs Foundation workshop about education, learning, and child development

Applicants must make a clear and convincing case for how the conference will benefit their work.

The deadline to apply is Nov. 15.
