The UNESCO/Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize recognizes one media organization or journalist’s contribution to press freedom. International and regional organizations or non-governmental organizations can nominate candidates working in the field of journalism.

The recipient will be recognized at a ceremony in May, and will receive $25,000 US.

Nominations must be submitted in English or French, and include a brief biography or history of the nominee.

The deadline is Feb. 15, 2017.
