Internews’ Earth Journalism Network is offering grants to projects that cover critical conservation and biodiversity issues. The grants focus on the Amazon region, Central Africa, and Southeast Asia.

Funded projects should focus on training and capacity building to increase media outlets’ coverage of conservation issues, and build journalists’ skills, knowledge, and contacts. The grants fund travel for reporting only if the project also facilitates the creation of networks or is part of a training process.

Earth Journalism Network will offer a separate grant for journalists who want to fund stories on biodiversity or conservation.

The deadline for applications is Dec. 23.
